The Rev is the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold.
The Rev is from a band known as avenged sevenfold and attended a Catholic school with Avenged Sevenfold lead singer M. Shadows, but was kicked out in 2nd grade. He started playing drums at the age of 18, and his first record was released when he was at the age of 18
The Rev has a side project with A7X guitarist Synyster Gates, as well as members from surf-punk band Ballistico, called Pinkly Smooth, in which he sings, and although not credited, recorded drums. His stage name in the band is Rat face.
His stage name in the band is Rat Head. Recently, he was heard saying that he and guitarist Gates would be returning to the world of side projects, bringing some songs by Pinkly Smooth back, although he never stated that Pinkly Smooth would be the name of the band.
He was also formerly the drummer for third-wave ska band Suburban Legends, along with former Avenged Sevenfold bassist Justin inSane.
Two of his favorite bands are Rancidand, & The Transplants. Sullivan cites his influences as being Vinnie Paul of Pantera, Dave Lombardo of Slayer, Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, and Paul Bostaph, also of Slayer.

Synyster Gates is the lead guitarist and back-up singer for the band Avenged Sevenfold. He usually sports a black Fedora which makes him easily distinguishable when he performs. Son of country guitarist Brian Haner.
Synyster came into Avenged Sevenfold in 2002, a year after the release of the band's first album, Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. He was featured on their EP Warmness on the Soul, and on the reissue of their first album, only playing on one song, the heavy metal version of "To End The Rapture".
His father, Brian Haner, is a musician and Avenged Sevenfold's official acoustic guitar player. He attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California as part of the GIT program, and studied Jazz guitar.
Synyster is also a member of the band Pinkly Smooth, a side project with The Rev [Avenged Sevenfold's drummer], along side members of the now-extinct band Ballistico and former bassist of Avenged Sevenfold Justin Sane.
He says his biggest influences are Dimebag Darrell [Pantera, Damageplan], Slash [Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver] and John Petrucci [Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment].
Synyster and Zacky Vengeance often play guitar back-to-back which is visually appealing to the crowd, which works well since Synyster is right-handed and Zacky is left-handed.
In an old magazine article, Synyster claims to have come up with his name when he was seventeen years old. "I was out with Jimmy Sullivan [aka The Rev]. We were drinking a lot and driving around the park in Jimmy's car. I was driving and all of a sudden I just blurted out, 'I am Synyster Gates and I am http://yeuamnhac.net/bbb/beep.jpging awesome!' I don't know why I said it but now that's my name!"
Synyster has been sponsored by Schecter Guitar Research since 2004, and has custom Avenger models out. He uses guitars listed below.
Synyster's guitar skills have been compared to those of Kirk Hammet, lead guitarist of Metallica [particularly as being better, showing less "caveman" style playing habits e.g. Kirk only uses down strokes, while Synyster is a known alternate picker with the exception of sweep picking].

Zacky Vengeance, born in California, December 11, 1981, real name Zachary Baker, is the rhythm guitarist for the band Avenged Sevenfold [although he was the lead guitarist on the band's first album].
Vengeance has played guitar since he was thirteen years old, and is self-taught. At one time played in a punk band called MPA. He and M. Shadows [lead vocalist] formed Avenged Sevenfold when they were in high school.
Zacky says that there are "so many bands" that influence him. "I still love the heavy bands. I love... Danny Elfman and Elvis Costello. It's... all over the place - I think that's the best way to be."
Zacky released a clothing line called "Zacky V. Presents..." on December 19, 2005. The current design features the popular "Vengeance University" logo, which Zacky designed himself. The line currently features t-shirts and belt buckles, featuring his trademark "Est. 6661" tagline on it.
